DESCRIPTION & HISTORY
During our first encounter, we estimated that this manta was roughly 2.8 metres in width, from wing-tip to wing-tip. Whilst we weren't able to accurately assess her maturity during our first encounter, based on her size it's reasonable to class her as a sub-adult / adult - we'll have to keep an eye out for any sign of mating scars when next we see her!
She has a long tail, and some unusual injuries on both her pectoral fins. It's not yet clear what might have caused these injuries, as they are quite different in appearance to the typical wounds caused by shark bites or fishing line entanglement.
